KOOPS MILL
BERMONDSEY

The key to successful construction in London is the ability to work on tight sites. Few sites come tighter than Koops Mill.

It was built on contaminated land over old Tannery pits, behind a listed residential building, on land directly over the Jubilee Line and with a boundary within touching distance of the 12 lane train line entering London Bridge Station.

The apartments are designed to Level 4 of the Code for Sustainable Homes and include ventilation heat recovery units, and high levels of thermal insulation, whilst the commercial offices comply with “Excellent” in the BREEAM sustainability rating

Despite the challenges, the project was extremely successful and shortlisted for an Evening Standard Award.

"Working with Kuropatwa has been a joy. A joy may sound over the top, but having worked (and tried to work) with many developers, Kuropatwa really are a joy to work with, and I have no qualms at recommending them very highly."
